I have a question. And no, Puppy… This is NOT about you! You see.. I have this friend. I don’t really like hanging out with her anymore becuase all she wants to play with is dolls, and I am getting way too old for that! I really don’t want to be her friend anymore. It is like I feel obliged (forced in case if u didn’t know what obliged means) to play with her becuase she is always lonely and her older brother doesn’t do anything with her and he is always on the computer. And listen to this one… SHE HATES COMPUTERS! She has 16 webkinz and I am the one who has to go on her account and do everything for her. And for your question here’s MY advice: First try and ignore her. Think about it, if you dont like playing her games and hanging out with her, then maybe she thinks your TOO mature and she might not like hanging out with you anymore either!
If so, then just try and avoid her. I know you said she was sensitive, but eventually she’s gonna get tired of trying to be friends with someone that’s never available. Know what I mean? But if that doesnt work, then try and be very sensitive and tell her in the nicest way that it might be best of you guys didnt hang out as much. You could start out like this: “Look blank, I think your an awesome person and all, but maybe its best if we dont hang out as much. I’m not really into dolls or stuff like that anymore. And I think you would be alot happier with someone who liked to do the same things as you. Please dont be mad! I still like you, I just dont really think that we’re as close as we used to be.” Would that work for you?
That is really good advice Webkinzgal. There is just one problem. I am her only friend. I have a lot of friends than her, and she only has 1, me. If she calls, I will tell her I can’t and make up a little lie, but she sometimes comes over to my house to talk to me with her dog, which drives my dog balistic! And listen to this…sometimes when she calls, I don’t feel like talking to her, so I let it ring. Then guess what? In 5 minutes or so, there she is at my door step with her dog. I mean why would she even come over if I didn’t answer the phone? What should I do now?
u should should just ask 2 play something different besides the computer!!! like just talk or watch tv! it is very mean 2 ignore ur friend. i mean how would u feel if one of ur friends thought u were 2 imature so they didn’t wanna b ur friend anymore!! it sounds cruel!!!! and i think u should just make herplay something else! and if she doesn’t listen say. well we r getting a lil old for dolls don’t u think and we can’t playthem forever. it was fun for a while but now it has gotten boring. we should try something new that we can both enjoy!

No computer, no TV, no Ipod(even though she has 1), no anything. Dolls are the most entertaining thing at her house pretty much. Her brother is always on the computer and Play Station and she hates to play her Wii. Can you believe it? For my birthday, I didn’t want to invite her becuase all my friends and I are 1 year older than her, so I though she would ruin it, so I didn’t invite her. I am her only friend, so guess what she did for her birthday? She invited a little 5-year old to her party to go see a movie. She is many years older than him. You are right Bell! Mamma Mia is the best movie ever! My favorite song is The Winner Takes It All and Meryl(Donna) sings it! I think Meryl Streep is so beautiful and she has starred in like 40 movies seriously! She has a great voice and she is a great person! Don’t you think Tonya and Rosie were so funny? Those were Donna’s friends.

Even though this is not my column, I have some advice for you. Why don’t you write a letter to her saying something like, “Hey, I have kind of been getting the cold shoulder from you lately, and I don’t know what is wrong. Maybe we should talk this out sometime,” or something along those lines. Or maybe you are trying to get too involved in her and you are not giving her enough space. Or maybe she just isn’t into you anymore. That doesn’t mean you can’t be friends anymore. Just kind of hang around her and her friends but from a far-away enough distance to see how she acts and maybe you could change a little bit to fit her personality. If you don’t want to change, then I guess she is not the right person for you. I hope this helps and try out the note thing. Sorry for answering this question Puppy but since you didn’t answer it yet, I thought I would.

My friends and I started a singing group and we have practices every wednesday. My friend made up a song and she ask me if i want a solo. I said no. well i got one. we all did. I’m a pretty shy singer in front of my friends and classmates. My friends say you cant freeze up and be all shy and low. That isnt helping me! they are telling me bad stuff not like just practice singing with your eyes close and imagine us by you. So I want to quit cause im scared to perform. I want want the class to hear me sing and then they will all think Wow she is a badddd singer and i’ll be made fun of. Im really scared and everytime i have to sing. I’ll get knots in my stomache. Is there anyway you could help me so I wont be afriad to sing in front of my friends?
